Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Several people have asked us how they can help, and if we could set up a place for that purpose. You will notice on the Left side there is a Donate Button for Dad (Pastor Jim) and on the Right side is a Donate Button for Makayla (Our Niece). We thought this might be the easiest way for people.

We hope to keep you updated on Dad & Makayla here and on Facebook. As many of you know, within a weeks time.. we received the news that "Grandpa" and "Granddaughter" were both diagnosed with a rare cancer completely unrelated.

God has given us peace through this time. There are so many questions... and not enough answers. But we do know that God is constant, and good. So often we find ourselves saying those words, but it couldn't be more true now.

Thank you so much for your support and prayers.

Makayla

Makayla is 3 years old, and was recently diagnosed with Acute Aplastic Anemia.

Aplastic anemia is a rare blood related disease in which the bone marrow fails to produce blood cells for the body. It can come in moderate, severe, or acute forms.

They are going to be running numerous tests on her blood to rule out different things and check on different procedures that could be possibilities for intervention. However, what they are looking at is a Bone Marrow Transplant.

Makayla has 4 siblings who would most likely be the transplant candidates. At this point, Chad and Heather (Makayla’s parents) are driving 40 minutes to the hospital back and forth. It is possible, that Makayla will be transferred over to University of Tuscon Hospital in the coming weeks.

Pastor Jim

Pastor Jim (Makayla's Grandpa)was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer known a Liposarcoma. The CT scans show that he has a massive tumor encompassing 65% or more of his abdomen area. The doctors are estimating the tumor to weigh between 20 and 30 lbs.

Surgery is tentatively set for the end of January. There are a number of risks associated with this type of surgery. With a 50/50 chance that he will lose one or both kidneys, part of the pancreas and the spleen. And perhaps partial loss of the liver, colon and small intestines, Pastor Jim is seeking a second opinion with the Mayo clinic.
